Pond Hockey Championships 6th Season Huntsville, Muskoka

Walter Gretzky is returning again this year to enjoy the Pond Hockey Championships in Huntsville at Deerhurst Resort Muskoka.  The event takes place the last weekend in January and the first weekend in February.  There are 250 teams registered to play in seven divisions on 24 outdoor rinks over the two weekends.
Spectator admission is free and encouraged for all the events.

Katrine Winter Karnival Almaguin Highlands

Katrine is located north of Huntsville in the Almaguin Highlands close to Algonquin Park and Muskoka.  Katrine Winter Carnival takes places every year towards the end of February.  Start of the weekend on Friday with family lunch, friday night bowling at Almaguin Bowl and family night dancing.  On Saturday the concession booth opens at 9am followed by a parade at 10:30am.  The day is filled with fun activities to include, outdoor bonfire, horse drawn sleigh rides, long sawing, nail driving, bed races, county music, children's games, hockey shoot, roast beef supper and dance at 8pm.  On Sunday enjoy a pancake breakfast, elimination draw and euchre in the afternoon in the senior's room.

Ontario Winter Games Muskoka

The Ontario Winter Games comes to Muskoka during the first weekend in March. The events are spread out between Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Bala, Baysville, Rosseau and Huntsville.
This is also a great opportunity to take your family with you and enjoy a fun filled weekend for all the family. There are lots of cottage rentals, hotels, motels, private cottages, bed and breakfast and Inns to choose from. The sports that are included in this weekend are synchronized swimming, taekwondo, wrestling, badminton, table tennis, indoor field hockey, judo, gymnastics, figure skating, boxing, kickboxing, air rifle, air pistol shooting, biathlon, men's hockey, ringette, curling, women's hockey, weightlifting, alpine and freestyle skiing and snowboarding.

Cross Country Skiing Events at Arrowhead Park

The Arrowhead Nordic Ski Club offers a wide variety of things to do in February. Arrowhead Provincial Park is located just north of Huntsville near the Almaguin Highlands and also near Algonquin Park.
Starting on February 2nd every Tuesday the Arrowhead Park offers nightly cross country skiing and then the first Saturday in the month Ski Touring is offered in Algonquin Park off Hwy 60 in Huntsville.
On February 18th the kids from the elementary school get to go out and take part in a race and then end the month of February with the 3rd Full Moon Ski Event. The dates of these events change from year to year so please contact Arrowhead Nordic Ski Club for yearly dates on all events.
